                 Hip wigging finals. This bird could bare to watch. Some slide film dated 1995. 

SINGLE FIN FUN

Last Saturday saw the 2012 Hip Wiggling Invitational Single Fin Gala. A 20 strong field of talented long boarders with a desire to slide, share and hoot their way through heats. With nothing else like it in the UK dare I say the world, organiser; James Parry succeeded in running the contest on one of the finest days of the year for logging.
The final came down to, L-R Elliot Dudley (wales) , Mick Rogers (california), Sam Bleakley (sennen, cornwall) Joe Davies (jersey) and Jordie Brown (Australia)
With the Sun setting over the golden Gwithian sand these five talented surfers continued to hoot and holler their way through a 30 minute final. Small but perfectly formed lefts and rights allowed each surfer to  wiggle their way to the top of the judges score sheets. It was however Jersey's Joe Davies who took the top prize and this years Hip Wiggling Trophy. Sam Bleakley took second with Eliot in third, Jordie fourth and Hansome Mick scooping the beer in 5th.

James and the Artisans of slide crew are in Salinas as we speak as part of the longboard festival and once again I was unable to join them.
