OVERBOARD

Had a swim the other day with my iPhone. Not something I suggest everyone does as they're a little expensive without the right gear. I packaged it carefully in an OverBoard phone case.
Safe as houses I told myself as I swam out on a pretty miserable Cornish afternoon.
Pitty this keg went unridden but as usual the trusty iPhone got the shot.

MAROC 2012

Three weeks to go before the SSC team head to Morocco for the second time. A week of training, coaching and surfing till arms and legs fall off. 2011 was amazing and with Surf Maroc accommodating us this time the crew are more excited than normal...if thats possible?

With an orange flight service (not mentioning names cos they've been useless) deciding to double their prices and the fact we are based at Lands End not helping the transport situation we have been dangerously close to cancelling this years trip. This has however been made possible by two of our sponsors Adriot clothing and 9Bar. Ben from Adroit has very kindly agreed to support or clothing on the trip and 9Bar has gone beyond the call of duty and helped fund part of the trip allowing Morocco 2012 to get off to a flyer...no pun etc

A huge thanks to both companies for your support.

Film fun

                 Hip wigging finals. This bird could bare to watch. Some slide film dated 1995. 

SINGLE FIN FUN

Last Saturday saw the 2012 Hip Wiggling Invitational Single Fin Gala. A 20 strong field of talented long boarders with a desire to slide, share and hoot their way through heats. With nothing else like it in the UK dare I say the world, organiser; James Parry succeeded in running the contest on one of the finest days of the year for logging.
The final came down to, L-R Elliot Dudley (wales) , Mick Rogers (california), Sam Bleakley (sennen, cornwall) Joe Davies (jersey) and Jordie Brown (Australia)
With the Sun setting over the golden Gwithian sand these five talented surfers continued to hoot and holler their way through a 30 minute final. Small but perfectly formed lefts and rights allowed each surfer to  wiggle their way to the top of the judges score sheets. It was however Jersey's Joe Davies who took the top prize and this years Hip Wiggling Trophy. Sam Bleakley took second with Eliot in third, Jordie fourth and Hansome Mick scooping the beer in 5th.

James and the Artisans of slide crew are in Salinas as we speak as part of the longboard festival and once again I was unable to join them.

Rich Emerson is a man of the ocean and when not found logging he can be found a few miles out to sea on this monster paddle board. I grabbed him the last time the sun shone just before he disappeared for a few hours. Rich is off today to Brighton for the paddle around the Pier.
